Mission Statement

Solace Veterinary Services is a house call veterinary practice that utilizes the most current therapies in pain management and palliative care to help terminally ill and aging pets live their best life possible, when every day matters. We also provide support, education and guidance for the human family members. We help create an environment for a safe, caring and intimate end-of-life experience for pets in the comfort of their familiar home environment.

Dr. Karen Randall DVM

Dr. Karen Randall is a graduate of Colorado State University Veterinary School. She has been a small animal practitioner and practice owner for over 20 years. Her most recent practice was in the Minneapolis area providing in-home veterinary hospice and euthanasia services.

Dr. Randall is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the International Association of Animal Hospice and Palliative Care, and the International Academy of Veterinary Pain Management. She believes very strongly in advancing veterinary hospice and palliative care as a specialty. She has also volunteered in the Hospice/Karuna program at Children’s Hospitals of Minnesota and as a bereavement support group facilitator with Holy Cross Hospice.

Dr. Randall derives great satisfaction in working closely with her patients and their families to provide a personalized approach to the challenges of aging and terminal illness. Dr. E. Kathryn Meyer VMD

Dr. Kathy Meyer graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary medicine in 1986.  Since then, she has spent 9 years in general practice, 5 years operating a national medication adverse events reporting program for animals, and, since 2000, has been treating dogs and cats with behavioral problems.  She joined Solace Veterinary Services in 2017.

 Dr. Meyer derives her greatest professional satisfaction by providing compassionate support and comfort to pets and the people who love them.  Helping individuals navigate the final steps of their pets’ lives in a peaceful and loving way is a great honor and privilege.

Dr. Catrina King, VMD, PhD

Catrina King, VMD, PhD is a licensed and USDA accredited veterinarian. She was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA and has wanted to become a veterinarian since early childhood. Dr. King received her bachelor’s degree from Penn State. She then obtained both her doctorate in veterinary medicine and PhD in molecular biology from The University of Pennsylvania where she also worked as a cancer biologist.

Dr. King holds specialty board-certification, and has over 20 years of experience working with various species including dogs, cats, rabbits, aquatics, and other small mammals and reptiles. She has two cats, Sylvester and Sir Charles who are the kings of her household. When she is not out doctoring,
she loves to play in makeup and get glammed!
